The question is: Exactly how many lean or syrup-sipping references can a rapper boast in a song these days? Well, Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan nearly use them all in their latest duet ‘Color Purple’, inspired by none other than the legendary Oprah Winfrey and her unforgettable appearance in Steven Spielberg’s 1985 classic, The Color Purple.
Thug and Quan both seem to want some more out of this collaboration, recruiting producer Metro Boomin whose motto is always the same.
While both rappers serenade a melodic duet throughout chorus, the beat plays under a back and forth between Thug and Quan. Each confess their feelings about the ‘Color Purple’, while giving a nod to Oprah Winfrey between each verse.

Now, Young Thug is set to release an upcoming collaboration mixtape with Migos titled MigosThuggin. Could the hype for this mixtape match up to Drake and Future’s joint effort “What A Time To Be Alive“?
